Workshops on career orientation and sustainability - places still available

18.10.2022 - 12:12 - Germany
The Corona crisis has hit the economy hard in some places. This also affects the willingness to train. In Saxony, the number of vacancies fell by more than half. For many young people, this means that the chances of landing the dream job they had hoped for as an apprentice are slimmer. Flexibility is needed here. If you want to get a taste of several future-oriented sectors, the summer camps of "Six Days for Future" are just the thing.

"Young people of Generation Z are driven by two big questions: How liveable will our world be in the near future? And what is my own role in it? With our offers, we enable young people to deal with these questions and find suitable perspectives for themselves," explains project manager Claudia Holbe from the arche noVa association in Dresden.

All workshops are about career orientation in the context of sustainability. Specifically, topics such as solidarity-based agriculture, modern gastronomy, fair textiles, sustainable design and sustainable business ideas are on the programme.
Due to the situation around Corona, the original programme had to be adapted, the workshops were shortened and will take place in summer without an overnight stay.

Despite Corona: Alternative holiday camps in Dresden and Eastern Saxony.

But even while observing hygiene regulations, young people can get to know the professional world of tomorrow and develop sustainable ideas in the "Six Days for Future" seminars. True to the motto "The future is what you make of it", young people between the ages of 13 and 24 are called upon to try their hand in the various fields of work.

Off to the dream job

During the summer holidays, three workshops lasting several days will take place in Dresden and the Bautzen region. In the autumn holidays, two six-day holiday camps with overnight stays are planned in Pirna and in Großhennersdorf near Zittau. All offers are free of charge for the participants.

The project "Generation Future", in the framework of which the "Six Days for Future" workshops take place, is a cooperation project of arche noVa together with the Dresden Environmental Centre and the Valtenbergwichtel e.V. from the district of Bautzen.
