Clean water, clean villages – new project starting in Uganda

17.11.2017 - 10:59 -
In the beginning of October a new arche noVa project has started in Uganda. The goal is to improve the supply with water and the hygiene circumstances in eight communities in the Mukono district.

Next to the construction of wells and sanitary facilities, the focus of the project lies on the construction of shared showers, the establishment of waste disposal systems and far reaching educational courses. Nearly 6.000 people will benefit directly from the project activities. Partly it’s a continuation of former projects. In the fishing village of Bugula, where a toilet block was built in 2016, now another toilet block is going to be constructed, besides a shared shower and a flat well. Again female self-help groups from the Mukono region are doing a significant job in the implementation of the measures.
