Program Manager (m/w)

Sloviansk, Donetsk Oblast

The responsibilities of Program Manager include operational and program (project) management, financial management, communication and representation of arche noVa to donors, local authorities and other local stakeholders. Program Manager is based in Sloviansk, Donetsk Oblast, with frequent travels to Kiev and to project sites.

12-months contract with possibility of extension
  • Planning, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation of project activities as well as impacts of the project(s)
  • Planning and monitoring of the project(s) budget together with Finance and Admin Manager
  • Development of work plans and assuring monitoring and evaluation of the project(s) at all stages
  • With support of Procurement & Logistics Team, ensuring timely and adequate procurement processes
  • Overall technical supervision of the implemented activities
  • Providing accurate and timely project-related internal and external reports
  • Preparation of proposals as well as support Head of Mission in identifying potential collaborations and funding opportunities
  • supervise optimal use of logistical, financial and human resources
  • Staff management, incl. ability to provide training, coaching, mentoring and leadership to staff
  • Monitoring of project(s)’ complaint and feedback mechanism
  • Representing arche noVa to donors, local communities, authorities and their counterparts, UN agencies and other non-governmental organizations
  • Supporting Head of Mission in cooperation and coordination with local and national government representatives and stakeholders
  • Providing PR department at HQ with relevant material for the visibility of the project and further fundraising
  • University degree in management, construction, engineering, education or relevant professional experience
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in project/program management, in emergency and development context
  • Proven team management experience
  • Financial (budget) management skills
  • Proven track of successful proposal writing, Experience in leading needs assessment, beneficiary identification, household monitoring etc.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, especially Word, Excel and PPT
  • Excellent English, both written and spoken
  • Very good command of Russian language
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and tasks efficiently
  • Ability to work independently without supervision as well as in the team
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills
  • Ability to cope with stress and keep the deadlines
  • Energetic, confident, taking initiative, pro-active and good team player


  • WASH and non-formal Education experience, especially in relief context
  • Fluency in German is an asset for donor reporting
  • Knowledge of Ukrainian
